GELS 2026: AI, Interculturality, and Innovative Pedagogies for Language and Communication in Engineering Education
The Global Engineers Languages and Skills (GELS) network is pleased to announce its next training event:
AI, Interculturality, and Innovative Pedagogies for Language and Communication in Engineering Education.
Venue: Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSIT UPM), Spain Dates: From 24th to 26th June 2026
This is an in-person event with no planned opportunities for online participation.
This year’s training event is an opportunity to explore how technological innovation and/or culturally responsive teaching practices can help us to foster more inclusive, reflective, and future-ready approaches to engineering language and communication. We welcome contributions in the form of either one-hour workshops or 20-minute presentations with 10-minute Q&A. Contributions on any topic relevant to AI tools, intercultural communication, innovating teaching, and engineering language and communication are warmly welcomed. The use of any language is also welcomed.
Please submit an abstract in English or Spanish to gels2026@sciencesconf.org by 1st March 2026.
The abstract must include the following:
- a succinct title
- a clear indication of the format (i.e. a 20-minute presentation or a one-hour workshop)
- the language of your presentation/instructions - a clear aim for your contribution
- specific details of your intended content
- approximately 300 words (excluding the title and references)
- A short list of references is welcome but not essential.
Notification of acceptance by 20th March 2026.
Final confirmation required by contributors by 27th March 2026.
